Best Supplements for Strength and Muscle

If you're looking for a supplement for strength, power or lean mass, creatine monohydrate is the most-studied ergogenic aid in sports nutrition and the one with the clearest dose: 3–5 g a day, taken consistently. Creatine Monohydrate delivers 5 g of micronized monohydrate — no novel creatine salts, no flavour system, no anti-caking agents — made to a ≥99.9% purity standard with manufacturing impurities tested on every lot. Creatine works by saturating muscle phosphocreatine stores, which takes about 3–4 weeks at 5 g a day; a loading phase is optional, not required. Around it: Hydrate Electrolytes for training-day sodium, ZenRest Recovery for glycine and taurine in the evening, and Collagen Peptides + C for connective-tissue support.

Why This Works

Inside Creatine Monohydrate

Creatine raises muscle phosphocreatine stores, which regenerate ATP during short, maximal efforts. Stores saturate over 3–4 weeks at 5 g a day.

Common Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need to load creatine?

No. 5 g a day saturates stores in roughly 3–4 weeks. A loading phase (20 g a day for 5–7 days) reaches saturation in about a week but adds nothing after that and is harder on the stomach.

When should I take it?

Any consistent time. Pre- or post-workout timing differences in the literature are small; missing days matters more than timing. Mixing it into a morning drink is the easiest habit.

Will creatine make me retain water or gain weight?

Creatine draws water into muscle cells, so a modest early gain of 1–2 kg is common and is intracellular, not bloating. It is part of how creatine works.

Is micronized creatine better?

It is the same molecule milled finer, so it disperses in liquid faster and settles less. It is a convenience feature, not an efficacy one.

Is it safe for my kidneys?

In healthy adults, long-term creatine use at 3–5 g a day has not shown kidney harm in the trials. If you have kidney disease or a history of kidney problems, consult your physician before use, and drink plenty of water either way.
